Vasaris, the Fuzzy Dragon [userpic]
I'm not sure that's how I want to spend a holiday weekend...

Poll #1756665 Drinking and Driving -- Approrpiate use of a Long Weekend?

So... when confronted with a long, holiday weekend, is the first thing you think "Gee, I should buy lots of beer and go on a road trip!"?

Eh, maybe?
Wait, what?

I only ask because there's this commercial that keeps playing in regard to Canada Day, wherein -- I kid you not -- it is implied that the listener should be saying: "YAY! Long weekend? Road trip! It's TIME TO BUY BEER!"

While in and of itself, if people want to buy beer for Canada Day, I don't especially care, but... 'We're going on a road trip, time to buy beer!' makes my brain ache a little. It seriously comes across as 'Holidays -- time to drink and drive!'

*iz completely baffled as BC has stricter drunk driving laws than we do.*

I iz puzzled too...drive with beer...NOT!

Makez for broken people, cars and roads, not goodz.

Love you. Will be there tomorrow, I have my meds now. (been out for two days, thanks to you know who)
