Dear Dispatch:

If the closest Port of Entry to your pick-up point is Port X and the closest Port of Entry to your drop-off point is Port X, I think it's fair to assume that your driver will cross at Port X.

They will not be crossing at Parallel Port, or Serial Port, or be pinging Port HooZWhatZis for NameThatData!

Port X. Learn it. Love it. Live it.


Aka: It is unlikely that someone going from, oh, western British Columbia to California will cross the border in Michigan. Or San Diego. Or Maine. There's a faint chance of North Dakota, depending on certain factors, but they're definitely not going to cross in, say... Laredo.

Now, the I-5 corridor? That's generally a good bet.
